Among my boss's (many) verbal tics is her tendency to say that someone is trying to "dog me out" or "dog us out," by which she means that somebody is trying to blame her or us for something, or get her in trouble with the higher-ups, or to call into question the quality of our work.
I had to pick this up from context, because despite being a well-traveled 40 year old man, she is the very first human being I have EVER heard use this expression. And she uses it all the time, because she unfortunately lives her professional life in a sort of permanent paranoid defensive crouch where at least 50 percent of the world is out to get her.
Has anyone else ever heard this expression? Because she uses it like it's just something that normal people frequently say.
