We heard many answers to the question of how to make it through the election while maintaining sanity yesterday during the Zoom meeting. I realized I didn’t really give an answer to that question, so I wanted to provide it via an interview Malice did last month with Mencius Moldbug, who was the original inventor of the concept of The Cathedral, before Malice made it more popular. For those who didn’t see Bridget’s appearance as well with Malice the following week, what the hell are you doing with your lives, and check that out as well.

As for the question, I think Bridget independently came to the same conclusion both Malice and Moldbug note about one hour in, which is reflected in everything about how Phetasy operates, as Moldbug was asked how to win the culture war. His answer: Higher quality, and have fun, both of which are values we also hold dear in this community. Laugh, read, and don’t adopt a victimhood complex. Combine that with the focus on self-improvement that ...

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

Candied pecans and Pumpkin Flan are done! House smells divine.

Just finished Hillbilly Elegy. I thought it was a extremely well done film. Glenn Close is incredible. I haven’t read the book yet, but it’s now on my list.

The critics panned it, so I thought I’d give it a shot. And I was not disappointed. Have the tissues at the ready.
