Drove into town to pick up pool supplies. The water was a bit cloudy yesterday, but so was the sky, so. Got something for the stains, the metal, and the cloudiness. Came back and put it in. Backwashed because the pressure was high. Tested the water; chlorine low, pH fine. Filled the canister with tabs; takes 16 big ones. Put some sparkle up in the shallow end basket. Locked up.

There were only two people in the pool today. Donna, who is on my pool committee. She offered to de-scale the tiles; I let her. We usually do that before we open in May, but because of the uncertainty re: COVID we waited for the governor's order to lift. I like to clean everything (tile, pressure wash building, sidewalks, and apron) the week before we open. But the governor surprised us with a quick-lift. Then the pressure washer wouldn't start and had to be serviced. By the time we got around to everything we were open and too busy to do the prep. No one cared.

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

I'm getting to the end of a doozy of a 12 hour shift in which my patient tried really hard to go into a full respiratory collapse. He's got a tracheostomy through which I've had to suction - constantly - overnight and he's kept plugging off because of all the gunge in his chest. Watching a patient struggle for breath through their throat while you're trying to clear it of shit is not amusing.

Don't mind saying it - and I apologize for the language - but I'm fucking toasted.

Don't smoke.

Afternoon, Pham. The only thing I have successfully accomplished today is a documentary on the Undertaker I was watching (don't judge) and breakfast. Hardly feels like a Friday to me. Holidays mess up my time sense, though. They always have and always will and is partially why I hate holidays in general. I hope everyone is handling their shit ( @Fred_Bourque ) better than me today.
Here's two of my finds today: a meme that really makes you think and a pride of lions that hunted and killed a crocodile, which reminds you of your place in the grand scheme of things.
