As many of you have seen by now, Bari Weiss has resigned from The New York Times. I find this to be a much more significant event that many are giving it credit for. You can read the article below, but I also want to share the most important quote from the now infamous Bari Weiss resignation letter (also in the article).

“Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor. As the ethics and mores of that platform have become those of the paper, the paper itself has increasingly become a kind of performance space. Stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy the narrowest of audiences, rather than to allow a curious public to read about the world and then draw their own conclusions. Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

Back at Hunting Camp for one more day. Tomorrow is the last day of the season. Here is the view from the trail today.

Drove down to get internet connection. Hunting camp is at the base of the mountains there in the firstp photo

Some photos of the last light of day kissing the tops of the mountains.

It's small business Saturday in a time where small businesses are struggling by no fault of their own. Realize these places have employees that depend on them and their livelihood depends on it. It really is the American dream if you have the balls to fail and get back up and do it again. That's why this is the only space I'm behind the pay wall it feels genuine and honest. If it didn't I'd take my money elsewhere.
