Liberty!

Pham, I am off today for the next week and a half. I am going to digital detox during that time. I wanted to leave you with some thoughts and some historical shredding!

July 4th means an insane amount to me, more than any other holiday. The time when humanity was finally promised real hope. The modern era had come. A small contingent of ornery assholes came together, got over their differences, and collectively said NO! It wasn't perfect, and several more bloody conflicts were in store to stay on the path. Yet, the general idea, that all men, all people, are created equal, and have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, was a resounding shot heard around the world.

Today, as those ideas, which began in ancient Greece, furthered by thinkers in Rome, furthered still by the Magna Carta, finally made whole by the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution, are under threat once again, we should all reflect and remember. ...

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

My therapist ended our session today by saying, "Stay safe and pray for America" and I felt that was a pretty ominous way to leave things tbh.

Thank you Phetasy Pham for the #DropInsWelcome zoom call. I learn so much every single week from all of you.
