“Though we often think of materialism as the drive to consume, purchase, and accumulate stuff, these are really just the symptoms of an underpinning, rationalist belief that nothing exists beyond the physical world. Intangible things like spirit, intuition, and visions aren’t considered real, and there is no relationship between our thoughts and the world around us. We are so accustomed to this way of thinking that it can be difficult to see how profoundly diminished we are by it. But it dominates every corner of our social, political, and economic systems in a wide range of cultures around the world. It is what underlies our judicial and penal systems that focus on punishing crimes rather than rehabilitating the systemic issues that fomented them. It is what exalts literature over folk tales, and rewards academic credentials over wisdom-keeping.”

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

Got in some good snugs with this monster this morning🥰

Now he is following me around like my hands owe him something ( he is terrified of thunderstorms and I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason he is so snuggly today but I’ll take it!)

Probably for a very small audience,

Happy Friday Y'all!
