Hey @sgdemeo get a load of this. Quick intro, as I was asked for the formulas: cake batter, buttercream, coconut filling. German chocolate cake is not ethnic, it’s Texan. In fact, Mr. German’s first name was Sam. Sounds like a great guy. If he were left-handed, he’d hit the trifecta.
My piping skills are out of practice. I’ve always been iffy on fine decoration. Amiris you made me work for this one lol. This is why I avoid multi-component desserts, unless people explicitly ask for the recipe. I’m exhausted from editing, so if you intend to make it, drop a comment if any questions or clarity needed. I’m sure I missed something somewhere. At the very least, I can vouch for the numbers.

Chocolate cake- yields two 8” rounds

Ingredients are grouped together in order of how they will be added and can be scaled together as such. As with all batters, all ingredients must be at room temp.

6.4 oz butter
16.8 oz brown sugar

6.4 oz eggs
0.4 oz vanilla

9.6 oz cake ...

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

Got in some good snugs with this monster this morning🥰

Now he is following me around like my hands owe him something ( he is terrified of thunderstorms and I’m pretty sure that’s the only reason he is so snuggly today but I’ll take it!)

Morning Phetasy Phamily! My #SoberOctober ended today, many thanks to all of you for the support and encouragement. While I didn't lose the 15 pounds I ideally hoped to lose, I came close at 13.5 with less exercise than I planned but better disciplined fasting & abstaining. 2 More days for those of you running until November the 1st! Happy Friday Phamily!

It was Einstein who said
Either nothing is a miracle,
Or everything is -
A jagged mountain range,
Lilacs in bloom,
A peacock unfurled,
Sun on your arm,
the touch of a stranger.

Take your pick: be surprised
By nothing at all,
Or by everything that is.
