Yaay! I'm back to work this week after having been laid off from my job for the last three months!
I work in health care and am getting used to all of the new changes. Although I'm elated to be back to work, I find wearing a mask all day uncomfortable and protocols tedious. All of the masked faces are a constant reminder that things are not as they should be. I've been concentrating on making eye contact with patients and co-workers in conversation, practicing "eye smiles" and using more vocal inflection.
I'm going to start my afternoon walks again tomorrow. I've discovered that fresh air, looking up at the birds in the sky and the tall trees, and stopping to name and smell as many flowers as possible is something simple I can do that gives me instant joy! It's a pleasant reminder that the seemingly littlest things in life can sometimes be just what we need.
