So the protests going through Denver today were definitely unsettling and intimidating. This is my neighborhood where I have lived and worked for almost a decade. I regularly walk, drive, and take transit through these streets - including on my current daily commute since the light-rail is still not running regularly.

These are supposed to continue over the next few days and I'm planning on trying to hunker down and avoid it as much as possible. But I'm glad I sleep with a Sig Sauer at hand.

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.

Yesterday I went into town to pick up an antique cast iron stove from my brothers house. After 3 of us where done loading it, we were walking down the street back to my truck. My brother's neighbors came around the corner, they had been out picking up a meal or groceries or something. The man literally dropped his bag, attempting to pull up his mask, in a panic. The wife followed suit. We were outside, and on the other side of the street, no less than 20+ feet away. Keep in mind these are the assholes who have bumper stickers on the car like 'I'm with her, an arrow points to the Earth' and the Biden sticker over the Hillary sticker, which would have been over the Obama sticker but rich boomers get a new car every couple of years.

What really struck me was the panic, the immediate visceral reaction to another human being, a neighbor no less. It was something to behold, and I find myself continuously thinking about it, and worried. Yes, it was a small, quick thing, but what ...

Well my day started off by reading the headlines.... Should have known better.
The saints got fined for no masks in the locker room after spending a few hours wrestling others on a field for a ball. Pretty sure they were not wearing masks then.
Then I started wondering if the dog will be charged with attempted assassination for injuring Bidens foot.
I have a dishwasher but am going to hand-wash today because I have a better view of the bird feeders from the kitchen window. I need some natural entertainment to clear my head for the rest of the day. Mental note don't even read headlines now.... Yall have a wonderful day.
