Write about something that you cling to.
Life constantly changes and it’s life that I cling to. I often find myself looking at people and things in my life like they are memories. The sound of my dog’s ears flapping pulls at my heart strings because I know that if, God-willing, I outlive her, someday I’m going to long to hear the sound of those floppy, flapping little ears.
It’s hard not to cling to my daughter at every stage of her development—but I suppose part of being a good parent is constantly letting go, letting go…encouraging them to explore, take risks, blossom, push their own boundaries.
