Back in May after it became clear the gyms weren’t opening any time soon, I started the #SarahConnor workouts for the lady subscribers to the Phetasy community in order to keep us sane and moving (and to make sure we were all in our strongest form for the forthcoming robot invasion).
Those workouts and women kept me from going crazy throughout the ups and downs of the lockdowns, riots and chaotic election. They were so popular another member of our tribe of the tribeless started their own class for the early risers and the men have started doing their own thing to keep moving and hold one another accountable.
I’ve been a loner my whole life but this community has showed me the importance of virtual and actual connections. I hope we continue to grow and support one another in becoming the best versions of ourselves into 2021.
Today we ladies started a 28-day challenge to get some momentum going and build some habits for the new year. It was great to see regulars and new women joining in. It’s never too late to join us — so if you’re feeling like you want to make some changes in your mentality, fitness and diet—jump in and let the group energy carry you. All you have to do is show up.
You can listen to it on my Substack:
It's our 200th episode of #WalkInsWelcome! Cousin Maggie and I reflect on what a long, strange trip it's been. This was a fun one.
Never forget--these are the good old days.
Thank you, Pham. I couldn't do this without you.
Today on #WalkInsWelcome I had a great talk with comedian turned political commentator Lee Camp about his political awakening, why we should turn off all mainstream corporate media, how the Democrats are not really a left-wing party, and so much more.
Maybe we should just focus on TV show reviews.
Grandpa's letter home after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Maggie is back! Also: The "No Complaining" challenge.
Some of you have been asking if we have a list of our promo codes for all the Dumpster Fire & Walk-Ins Welcome sponsors. We made a list and you can find it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11ErjcLnuDxjb4FibbeY3yh97UOUyfeqr5xz6zKV57mw/edit?usp=sharing
We'll do our best to keep it updated.
Sundown today marks the end of Yom Kippur - the holiest day in Judaism. It's a beautiful and solem holiday, a day of reflection, repentance and atonement. To our Jewish Phamily, "G'mar chatima tova" (pronounced gih-MAR chah-tee-MAH toe-VAH), which means "May you be inscribed in the Book of Life for good."
Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.
We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.
