Hey all!
New to the community and figured I’d share my COVID/Laid Off story.
I’m 23, and Back in February I was laid off from my position at a doctors office due to a ton of inner office drama with the office manager and one of the doctors there. That doctor got fired and since I was her surgery scheduled, I was also let go as I was no longer needed. Had a slight breakdown about this as I had never been fired before and it was a scary thought to be unemployed living on my own, no car, with expenses I didn’t know how to cover.
I apply for unemployment, my past employer fought it. So my claim was put review.
And then COVID hit, no places were hiring (that were in my grade) and I was absolutely terrified. I was living off my savings, couldn’t get through to unemployment about what was happening to my claim. Nothing. It was definitely the lowest, most scared and most depressed I’ve ever been, not knowing how to rent.
I finally was able to get a job in May, and now ...

Hello new followers, I hope I don’t disappoint you. I want this place to feel like home, where we can escape the Thunderdome and process the world. Where we can post dog pics and recipes and book recommendations. Where we support each other as we get sober, lose weight, embark on new business opportunities, creative endeavors, relationships and travels. I want this to be your oasis of sanity and laughter in an increasingly mad world. A creative outlet where you can share your spirit with us.

We might not have any control over the news cycle—but we can control our habits and attitude. It all starts with us. And hopefully a little piece of that will start here.
