New to the community and figured I’d share my COVID/Laid Off story.
I’m 23, and Back in February I was laid off from my position at a doctors office due to a ton of inner office drama with the office manager and one of the doctors there. That doctor got fired and since I was her surgery scheduled, I was also let go as I was no longer needed. Had a slight breakdown about this as I had never been fired before and it was a scary thought to be unemployed living on my own, no car, with expenses I didn’t know how to cover.
I apply for unemployment, my past employer fought it. So my claim was put review.
And then COVID hit, no places were hiring (that were in my grade) and I was absolutely terrified. I was living off my savings, couldn’t get through to unemployment about what was happening to my claim. Nothing. It was definitely the lowest, most scared and most depressed I’ve ever been, not knowing how to rent.
